DEAD OR ALIVE Xtreme is a survival horror game developed by Koei Tecmo Games. The game features characters from the popular DEAD OR ALIVE series and takes place during the Venus Festival – a time when beauty and strength are prized. Until now, the game was available only in Japan but was later released on Steam in Asia. This time, the game is available in both Japanese and English.
In this free-to-play action game, players can equip their Dead or Alive heroines and unlock new swimsuits. The game also offers launch bonuses like three SSR swimsuits, logging in for the New Owner Login Bonus, and participating in the Main Festivals. As the game was released on Steam, the game is not compatible with Johren accounts. Still, it is worth playing if you want to relax after a long day at work or home.
The free version of Dead or Alive Xtreme is a downloadable game and is only available for PC. English-speaking players were expecting a long wait for this game, as the English version of Dead or Alive Xtreme always lags by a year. However, the new version of the game has added an English-language character, Tina Armstrong. It’s still unclear when it will come to other platforms, but a release date for the game is expected to be announced soon.
Koei Tecmo has included a new character in DEAD OR ALIVE Xtreme: Venus Vacation: Nanami. The character was released in Japan over a year ago. However, the English version was slow to catch up after the release of Tina. Nanami is Misaki’s former classmate and is voiced by Miyuri Shimabukuro, who also starred in Atelier Lulua.
Hitomi is a world-class fighter. She is born to a Japanese mother and a strict German father. Her father trained her in karate from a young age, and she took part in several fighting tournaments. She also meets Ayane, a master of the Hajinmon sect who arrived at the island to investigate the Mugen Tenshin clan. Although she was confused about the beauty requirement, she accepted the Owner’s proposition to work with him to set up the Venus Festival.
Another popular event in DEAD OR ALIVE Xtreme: Venus Island is host to the Once Again, Nice to Meet You (First Half) festival. Fiona and Zack’s junior high school friends, Nanami and Zack, are scouts for the Venus Islands. After a day of exploring, the two of them meet and have a chat. When Zack pointed the camera at them, Nanami looked at the camera and smiled.
As a result of its similar assets to Xtreme 3, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 re-used certain endings from Xtreme 3. The cut girls’ backstories conflicted with their desire to be liked by the Owner. Thus, the endings for Leifang and Misaki were not used in the sequel. They are, however, reused in the Waiting for Holy Night PV opening.
